1)Is there anyway to search in a specific category? Like have a dropdown menu of all categories next to the normal text box, with the first option being ALL CATEGORIES, and being able to choose which cat to search in?
2)When searching all categories, how do you alter the output of the category listing in the results page. It has

1) Use widgetz's Category Search Mod, which is linked in the Resource Center...and the Category List Mod located in the FAQ section in the Resource Center. Combine these do Modsa and you will get what you want.

2) You have to edit the sub build_linked_title in the search.cgi file.

1) I didn't see anything in the Resource section that helped with what I wanted, unless a read a description wrong. What I want is to have a text box, where you enter the string, and a drop down menu where you pick which categoy(ies) to search for it in, then the submit button; all on the main page.
2) I have the links withing a table, and I'm trying to add the category as part of the table, when it needs to be.
EX, go to http://www.themeguys.com/search.cgi?query=wwf
I would like for the CAT(Video Games > ) to be in a white row above the first link in that cat. I haven't gotten it to work yet.

I think the mod from Widgetz you're looking for is here:

For your white table-cell all you need to add is one to your templates (category.html where it reads <%category%>), or - if using non templates - one in sub site_html_category where it reads $category_clean.

I saw that, and it doesn't look to me like what I'm looking for, I don't want sorting. Unless I'm not understanding what the desc for that mod is.
Isn't category.html for the category pages? I'm trying to change the way it looks in Search
