Registration possibility for Links 2.0
Hi all,

I was wondering if someone has worked on making it possible for potential users to sign in/log in/register to a Links 2.0 site?

I have seen this on Widgetz www.pdamania.com/user.cgi site which run's Links SQL.

Any help, suggestions and otherwise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly,

best,
Reinhold.

One suggestion I have is to use DBMAN for your registration system. This has been discussed in terms of integrating the two programs.

Search this forum and the DBMAN Discussion Forum.

The esasy answer is to use some form of HTACCESS protection on the main Links directory. There are numerous user management scripts available, and AccountManager Lite is well regarded. If you want to a have completely web-based user management (think like My Yahoo), I have experimented using Web Authenticate, which allows both static HTM and cgi to be protected, but requires some polish in terms of dynamic user sign-up and account management. DBMAN could also do the later, but would require some integration, which may or may not have been already done. I run another site which uses DBMAN for user registration, but the pages are not dynamically updated (like in Links).
