New LWP URL CHECKER/non english
When I use the New LWP URL CHECKER to get the meta description of a page and add it in description's field, it works well, but when there is no description, it takes the page content, but it appears without non-english characters in my description field.Frown
Do someone know how to resolve this problem ?
Thanks!
Pascal.

Not really...If the content of page that is being added is in English...then I do not know of way of dynamically translating it.

Eliot, thanks for your quick response.
I don't want to translate the content of the page, but just keep the non-english characters that appears in Description field when new LWP url checker don't find Description meta tag and get instead the page content. I want to keep this description in his original language.

Cordialement.

Right...and as you mentioned if there is NO description META tag, then the first 100 or so characters in the WEB PAGE you are adding will be added into the Description field. And as I already mentioned, you would have to either translate the Description yourself before validating the link or live with the English words because there is virtually no dynamic method of translating a page that is written in English with using the LWP Checker.

Get it??? Wink

It seems that i did not explain my problem correctly, I try again. Mad Smile

If this page is in English, i want to keep this description in English .
If this page is in [/b] French[/b], i want to keep this description in French, but my problem is that french characters like é or à disappear.
I do not want translation.
Tongue I hope i was clear enough.

Pascal.

Well, the only suggestion is that you use regular expression statements for the $in{'Description'} field in the sub site_html_add_failure and sub site_html_add_success.

Good luck!
