I'm trying out Links on a site of mine, but before I go "public," I wanted to check something out.

I was wonder if it would be resonable/possible to modify Links so it doesn't require URLS. (Kinda goes against the whole idea of Links eh?) I know I could just turn off the required flag in the links.def, but I have the feeling that would cause a whole host of problems.

Here is the basic reason why I would like to do this: I'm trying to make a directory of resources for historical reenactors. I would like to be able to index resources that don't necessarily have web sites.

no problem to the script
the classifieds mode does not require url and it's working fine

If some will have links and others not, you will have a problem with the random links. It may try to sent the user to a link with no URL.

Also, unless you trap for no URL before printing the pages Links will still try to make a link out of the title but will have no destination URL.

I would imagine that there would bebig problems if you clicked on the validate links button
