Anyone know how to make links check for a required-link back to your site "BEFORE" they can have their site submitted to your directory?

A user submits his site, and links then quickly checks his submitted page looking for a pre-defined URL that you told them beforehand they must place on their page as a link back.. If its found, their application is submitted.. If not, it tells them they must supply a link-back to us before submitting.

I thought this had been done before, but cant seem to find any mention of it anywhere now.

CEGlobe has written a Reciprocal Link checker mod, which is in the (surprise) Mod section of this site. I have not used it, but it looks like you should be able to start with this code to get at what you want.
