Amazon mod
I would like to have some but not all links to Amazon. Does the Amazon mod change all the output to require ISBN for all input. Do I need a separate URL for this mod, if so can I install 2 copies of links on my server in different directories? I have only seen examples where the whole links set is Amazon. I could see having a category that goes to a Books URL links set. I just want the basic info before I attempt this mod.
thanks

If you only have one category with links back to Amazon, it's probably not worth adding an ISBN field. In the URL field you just link your affiliate code to the respective Amazon article. There are other solutions. I have installed a second set of Links for my Amazon book engine with additional fields.

I think this will work best with most book links in one category, but a few in other categories too. I could have only one category if necessary or if its a lot easier to setup. I like the idea of the Amazon mod, not using just the affiliate code. The Mod also pulls in the book image and review, doesn't it? So do you use two URLs for your links? What I'd really like is to have the web links and book links integrated and showing only those fields necessary for each link. The examples I've looked at only are Amazon style, or weblinks.

Check out what I use on my web site: http://www.japanreference.com/Books/. As already stated, I am using a second installation of Links only for the book engine.

In the URL field I am linking the affiliate code to the respective book. I have added seperate fields for ISDN, author, book image (Logo mod) etc. and a review mod. Adding a second URL field sounds like lots of work... Wink

Thanks, You have been very helpful. I didn't realize that the Logo and Review mods were to work with the Amazon mod. I've scrolled through the listings of the mods not fully comprehending what I'll need. I'll do the same, add another links installation with the mods after I complete another item I'm working on. Your sites are great.
