tags not in template folder
Hello,
I want to use templates.cfg to have ssi tags in pages outsite my template directory.
e.x
http://satellitehit.virtualave.net/cgi-bin/test.html
Here is my template.cfg

Quote:
$help = qq~
<table width="100%" cellpadding=2 cellspacing=0 border=0>
<tr bgcolor="#FFE566">
<td align=center colspan=2 valign=top><font face="arial"><b>Related Links</b></font>
</td>
</tr>
<tr bgcolor="#EEEEEE">
<td colspan=2>
<small>
<li><a href="/first.html">First time visitor?</a>
</small>
</font></td>
</tr>
</table>
</center>
</td></tr>
</table>
~;

The tag <%help%> appears in my HTML of test.html but it doesn't display the content that i input in templates.cfg.

I think you are getting confused.

Point 1 - HTML pages should not go inside your cgi-bin (apart from templates)

Point 2 - <%tags%> are not SSI, they are Links2 tags

Point 3 - You can't use <%tags%> in non-links pages.

You can't use <%tags%> in non-links2 pages unless you use a perl module to do it (or special code), such as Junko's parser, or my own.

I'm not sure if Junko's is available and mine isn't at the moment.

But you could of course create new Links templates in order to use these tags. Search the forum more info on how to add new templates.

Until Paul personally replies, he did say, "I'm not sure if Junko's is available and mine isn't at the moment." that his isn't available either ....

oh well, wonder if he'll make it available ...

QuuQ,

My parser has been freely available for some time now (ftp://ftp.camelsoup.com/pub/CamelSoup/Parse.pm). There is no formal documentation anywhere or an example script, though. Paul is the only one I know who has tried it.

I'm not sure what relevance this has to the question...

Loucian,

I think what you're really looking for is this http://www.camelsoup.com/?view=dynamic
