I had that problem once. It was to do with me not using the correct tags in the category.html page 
Try it, that may work!

Thanks, but I have the same thing in my previous version of links and it works ok...I've narrowed it down to nph-build.cgi but I don't know exactly what's causing it...

I don't see this in my previous versions, but I'm not sure what modification required the change either...

I don't think that's it...I added $prev and $next to the globals, and it would build fine, but wouldn't show anything at the bottom of the page...no links at all now!
