Is it possible to search like this?

Is it possible to search like this?
I would like to provide a few form based options for searching.

Say I have 50 states and different properties listed in these states under 5 different categories each falling in a price range and listed in a certain date range.

Ex: Alabama, Four Bedroom, Price Range - $150,000-$250,000, Listed-this week

Now the user will select all three options from a dropdown menu and inputs a keyword for searching.

Is it possible to that? If so, how?

Anyone knows? Thanks

I'm not sure this is exactly what you are looking for, but I'm using something similar sounding in my current bibliography (see the current search page at www.floor42.com/biblio/search.cgi

What I did was put in some additional fields into the search form, like this:

Code:
<tr>
<td><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Return only
books published by:</font>
<select name="Publisher" size=1>
<option>---
<option>Ace Books
<option>Arthur Barker
<option>Ballantine Books
<option>and so on
</select>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Return only
books with "In Print?" status of: </font>
<select name="InPrint" size=1>
<option>---
<option>Yes
<option>No
<option>Unknown
</select>
</td>
</tr>

Where Select Name="Field Name". Bear in mind that my database used the exact same drop down menus for data input as for the search drop down, so the terms always matched exactly. If you are using text inputs where the price ranges might be listed differently each time, this solution might not be a viable option for you. But I hope this helps a bit Smile

Kate,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, that is exactly what I was looking for. Is it working well for you? Will that then search for all selected options?

I like your site design.
