Deadlink Auto Reporter MOD

Deadlink Auto Reporter MOD
I'm using the Deadlink Auto Reporter MOD. Occasionally, a link is erroneously reported dead and is added to the deadlink.txt file. I thought I could simply remove the link from deadlink.txt and get it working again. Is this information retained in another file other than deadlink.txt? I know the link is still good. If I enter it in my browser it works. I can even get it to work from the Admin section. How do I get it to work in Links again?

Thanks,
Jim

Hi,

I have the same problem. Some URLs generates the 404 error. It is something wrong with the jump.cgi that comes with the 404 error mod.

Do not get me wrong - it is a great mod, BUT it does not work that well with country domains.

A fix to this problem would be highly appreciated by many links users (including myself).

Regards,

Joe

I think this is a general problem related to jump.cgi. Sometimes when I referenced a URL just by directory (http://somedomain.com/somedirectory/) I received a 404 message. Changing the URL to http://somedomain.com/somedirectory/index.html solved the problem. Just my two cents of experience...

I reinstalled the original jump.cgi and all of the erroneously reported deadlinks worked in Links. So, yes it is the modified jump.cgi that's causing the problem. Anyone know what little snippet of code can be changed to correct this? It really is helpful but now I am getting too many bad reports.

Thanks,
JimN
