Adding HTML to line in Template.pm gets errors
Hello,

I have been trying to figure out how to edit the lines in Template.pl that read: Lines 129, 130, 130
}
else {
return "Unkown Tag: $1";

This is the entry that give an error when people do not select a category when submitting sites. I would like to add an HTML Jave History link back with an arrow graphic the people could click to go back rather than clicking back on their browser. Here is the HTML I would like to add:
<A HREF="javascript:history.go(-1)"><IMG SRC="back.gif" BORDER="0"></A>

I have tried this but I get script error messages every time I try to do it. I realize you all are busy with more important things but if someone could suggest a way to add this I would be grateful.

Thank you,
Doug

No it isn't, it is telling you that you have a tag problem.

That is not the normal error people should get when they forget to select a category so you have a problem with your tags somewhere.

All you are changing there is the text that shows up when you have a problem with your tags and not the error that is shown when forgetting to select a category.

Secondly if they DO forget the category, the error shows on the same page as the add form so there is no need to go back anywhere because they are all ready on the same page as the form.

If you DO want to change the message for Unknown Tag's you will need to use backslashes infront of every " like \" or

$output = qq| |;
return $output;

Paul,

Thank you for the response. I'm glad you told me this error tag is not normal. I want to get things done right so I'll have to backtrack and see which mod I setup may have caused the problem. I think it may be the Blocking Categories Mod http://goodstuff.orphanage.com/rcat_mod.html that I still have something wrong on. Allthough it works and does block directories I choose from allowing submissions it seems the most likely mod that could have caused this problem.

I'll have to retrace my work to see if I can find something.

Thank you,
Doug
