GM with the POP server plugin

GM with the POP server plugin
I am thinking about Gossamer Mail with the POP server plugin installed.
I run sendmail with Qpopper. With this solution (GM+Pop3server) I must remove Qpopper and work only with GM and Sendmail?
Do you have widely tested this Pop3 server? Note that I run Mac OS X Server 10.1.4
Thank you very much

Hi,

You don't have to remove Qpopper, you can run the Gossamer Mail POP server on a separate port (i.e. port 1100), and change your mail client to connect to a different port.

However, if you have a lot of users, it may be easier to disable qpopper, and run gossamer mail on the normal port so as not to cause confusion.

The pop server is widely tested.

Cheers,

Alex

I'm running a new dedicated server that's not yet operative so I can disable Qpopper and run only with the GM server.
But the problem is that If I purchase the server plugin, you will guarantee me that it will be functionable?
Have you tested it on Mac OS X Server?
Also I can setup the GM server to enable APOP?
Thanks

Hi,

We have not tested on Mac OS X, but it does work on FreeBSD and linux, so it shouldn't be a problem. As long as you can provide ssh/telnet access, we can guarantee it will work for you (just in case we have to make a change).

Yes, the POP server does support APOP authentication.

Cheers,

Alex
