2.2.4 Upgrade Query

2.2.4 Upgrade Query
Test run of upgrade from 2.2.0 --> 2.2.4
FWD as attachment gives as a test case following in attachment list:

forwarded_rfc822_email-1112813796.eml

Notice the .eml extension. Is it supposed to be this way?
The mail doesn't get caught by the filers fine but the extension as shown in the attachment list?

Additionally, if the user receiving such mail decides to "Save Attachment", then the Text File Saved is all jumbled up wrt line breaks etc

Thanks
HyTC

That's how its displayed, but it will get sent without a name.

The email is a rfc822 email, that is how it is stored. It is meant to be viewed in their e-mail client.

Yes there is no problem wrt the same (ie Forwarding)
However, when i click on "Save Attahment" it pops up the windows with .txt extension and gets saved as say 3.txt

To open in Outllook Express it has to be renamed to .eml ... which shows up everything fine but doesn't open in incredimal (invalid file format .. perhaps they use some other extension ... not sure).

Question:
Does it mean that since "Save Attachment" is saving it with .txt extension, the user would have to go through the renaming exercise? Or is something possible in Gossamer Mail for such cases... so that the additional step of renaming .txt --> .eml can be avoided. (Forwarding Is Fine ... It's "Save Attachment" which is under discussion)

Thanks

Thanks

If you're using 2.2.1 or newer, there's nothing that you need to do.

Currently on 2.2.0
Besides the modifications for html editor, i think the msgs_body.htm also needs modification to get that "Fwd As Attachment" button going. I am using a modified nessa template carried over from 2.1.0 -->modified for 2.2.0

[EDIT]
Have upgraded a 2.2.0 testinstall to 2.2.4 and just trying to get everything going before upgrading the live installation
[EDIT]

Thanks

Thanks

upgraded 2.2.0 --> 2.2.4
used brewt template for signup on the testinstall (upgraded from 2.2.0) but the IP doesn't get there in the DB... it shows blank as follows:

in the Modify User in Admin
Sign-up IP

Couldn't find anything related to this in template Diff's (2.2.0-->2.2.1) brewt
The table shows NULL for users_join_ip for the newly signed up test user on this install.

Thanks

Storing the user's ip has nothing to do with the templates. It's all in the code. It's done in NoAuth/Join.pm (just search for users_join_ip). Unless that function isn't getting run (eg. a plugin is overriding it), it should get inserted into the database.

Final query before we upgrade:

Post upgrade the only necessary changes to templates is with respect to the html editor and also the changes to take care of the New GT Libs of Glinks3. The other changes can come about gradually as there is nothing which can break. I have tested it on testinstall wrt user end and things have been fine. Or are there any other issues which have to be taken care of immediately after the upgrade?

Thanks

Thanks. Upgraded and no hiccups as such except for a minor issue wrt fileman in firefox:

The top and bottom frames never seem to finish loading.... there is something which is always being downloaded (the mouse cursor shows it that way) though it's all fine in IE.

Also ... since been a longtime with gossamer mail, i just need which files need to be edited for following:

Replacing Gmail in Message ID
Also the X-Gloop's --- Gossamer Mail with something else...

Thanks

I have replaced "GMail." in outgoing.pl where Message ID is set, but still find GMail being added to Message-ID. Is it to be replaced elsewhere also? Using SMTP as server wouldn't allow sendmail to be called and used when running under mod_perl.

Replacement has been done in following subs:

sub send_bounces
sub send_replies
sub send_forwards

Couldn't find Message-ID anywhere except for three above.
[edit]
Compose.pm had one and replaced that so it's fine now

Thanks
