searching - should subcategories not be shown?
Question: In searching the site for something like say Green Bay Packers, I have one main category and two subcategories with these words in it
- Football/NFL/Teams/Green Bay Packers
- Football/NFL/Teams/Green Bay Packers/News - Media
- Football/NFL/Teams/Green Bay Packers/Players

However, whenever I search, only the main category shows up and the two beneath the main category (News - Media and Players) don't ever show up in the category list. I have already re-indexed and I'm using a search like +green +bay +packers (because it doesn't appear the "and" functionality works yet).

Is there an option somewhere that would allow these subcategories to be displayed. I'm not sure I want to use it yet, because obviously if someone searched on "football" the results would be huge and pretty useless. But I'd like to play with the results using this... Thanks to anyone who can assist.

It should work. I checked how my site is searched, and all the subcategories show up.

Did you put an index "weight" in the category table field for "name" ??

Yes, I have the default index weights in the Category table for both name (3) and description (1). I ran re-index before I did a build all. I don't think I have changed much of anything in the search routines, since I haven't focused on this part of it until now.
