I only know what Alex has posted here.
He has been working on am MS server version, and has offered to work on an Oracle version if he can get the access to a server. Despite DBD
BI it means some tweaks to the various modules of Links to handle the differences in the SQL dialects they use.
But, I'm sure you will never be able to run Links on a "free" host, or any host that charges less than $200-$300 a month for very long. It's a very resource intensive program, and as you can see by the posts here, ISP's forbid and turn off scripts that use too much resources -- CPU or bandwidth.
There's no such thing as a free lunch. You want to run a big site, you need to pay for the resources to run a big site.
This is _really_ a sore point for me, so I'll quit now.
