Error loading Links.def
When going to:

http://localhost/cgi-bin/admin/admin.cgi using Netscape 4.72 under RH6.1, I get the following.

Software error:

DBSQL (734): Fatal Error: Error loading Config file '/home/httpd/cgi-bin/admin/defs/Links.def'. Reason: File does not exist. at /home/httpd/cgi-bin/admin/admin.cgi line 40

However, I go to
cd /home/httpd/cgi-bin/admin/defs/

and Links.def is right there.

?

CHMOD 666 on these files, correct?
and still the error.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Is localhost really your domain name?

Dan, re:localhost

Not everyone has a remote server Smile Some people have a Unix box on their desk, or direct access to their network server.

The RH (Red Hat Linux is a bit of a clue) but the either way, the error is a file not-found, and since the paths in the error message seem to match up, the other problems we've seen here is '0' byte files giving that error.

_ONE_ other source of error could be confusion on who is 'localhost' if he's using two computers, there could be some confusion, but 'localhost' should be the machine the script is running on, and it did seem to find the programs ok, so I'd be a bit surprised if that was the problem -- once you find the scripts, paths are relative ....

Make sure the file is not '0' bytes long.

Best thing to do is resync it from inside the Admin. If you _can't_ (ie: if that is the problem) re-run setup.cgi ...

/cgi-bin/admin/setup/setup.cgi

And "recreate def files"

If you get a permissions error, that's the problem. If it succeeds, try again. It should work.

Ah, that makes sense. You can tell I use a virtual server. Smile I figured it would be too simple an oversight, but you never know...
