my english is simple, but my teacher in school said english is a simple language - before he gaves me bad notes in this discipline and let me repeat the school year.
I found the script linkssql because i like the link management and i like the imagine that the pages will be generated from a database on the server to static pages.
I want to use linkssql to manage a litte links directory and in some categories i´d like to use it like an CMS.
I know that its possible to use different template-sets in different categories. I talked with somebody in germany about it and i hear (past heared?) that only the detailed pages are always the same, independent of category. Here i read - and in the admin demo i saw that the detailed pages are in the template set. This lets me believe that the detailed pages are depending also from the template set ---> from the category.
1.Is it possible also to use different detailed.html templates in one category? I imagine a drop down list at the add link page to choose what detailed.html template will be used to generate the static html file. Normally the programmer say " all is possible...". But would this be possible for future updates ? Or is it very complicated and you have to change many things in the core?
2. I´d like to use one domain for the root of the directory. And a second domain for a subcategory. In this subcategory there would be some other files , eventually a shopsystem (OSC) and perhaps hand made webpages. If the static pages will be build, will this kill the other files in this category ?
3. I´d like to use detailed pages like http://www.domain.com/...le_of_the_Link_L123/

two years before it was a problem if the links was used in different categories. Was now - 2004 - founded a simple solution for this? Or if this is still not simple to avoid - or is it possible to use detailed links like
http://www.domain.com/dir-what-i-want/Title_of_the_Link_L123/ to avoid the problem with duplicated links in different categories ?
4. Is it possible to use the database from an other (php shop) script - only read some fields, not write ?
Now it`s enough english - for me and my dictionary - if my teacher would read this, he would be surprised positive - i hope so ...
I look forward to use the script- and i hope i will be glad to use it still, if i will use it (future-future).
