Want to make a directory of city's shops with ability to rate/review them
Hi we'd like to setup a directory of city's shops with ability to rate/review them. Can this be done using Links Sql? Also , a demo would be useful in this case then.

The ability to rate / review them is important.

Thanks,

Shankar

Hi Shankar,

Sure thing, something similar can be setup with GLinks, and here's an example that is close to what you're trying to put together, except it's a database products rather than shops, but close enough that the leap is not too great: http://www.girlfriends.com/reviews/

Shankar, be careful. To the best of my knowledge, what you see on girlfriends.com is not an out of the box solution. I posted a link yesterday asking the best way to do exactly what they are doing (i.e. display the rating stars next to the link itself without going into see all the reviews). The rating & reviewing system on Links SQL is a bit complicated to work with sometime. My post below refers to this problem (it won't be completely clear what I'm talking about if you haven't seen the product, but you will get the idea that you need some extra work)

Maybe Jack will give an answer

Indeed, there is some work involved to build a customised, specialised directory, but in many cases, it's not terribly difficult to do and the settings are already in the Links admin panel as through the years, we've incorporated many clients' suggestions and requests into the base program.
