Templates, SE-friendly URLs, ?
Hi,

I'm interested in Links 3.2.0 and would like to know if there are different templates to choose from or if you do have a resource page/site where different templates are listed?

Does Links 3.2.0 support SE-friendly URLs?

Thanks,
sun

and how about a CMS?

I would like to have the main page filled with news or something like this. Are there CMS addons for GLinks that can do the job?

Hi Sun,

All versions of Links since the very first ones back in the '90s have search engine friendly static pages and URLs, but we've made the URL's more relevant now with the option of using the Link Title in the detailed pages, etc. Here's a good example:

http://www.caribbean.com/villas/

And yes, you can use it as a CMS system, these sites are good examples of that:

http://www.ameinfo.com/
http://www.rockclimbing.com/
http://www.boats.org/

Please note that pulling items onto a homepage from a Links application will require some custom work that you can contract with us to perform.

Hi Jack,

one more thing I'd like to know if there's some kind of WYSIWYG editor for editing links, as I'd like to have some features like linking, different fonts, ...
Is there a plugin that can handle this with GLinks 3.2.0 ?

Thanks,
Sven

Hi Sven,

We've done this for some clients previously, but it's not part of the package, typically about US$250 and up for this function if you feel you really need it, but do work with the program as it is by default first before making this decision because users can break the page design by making their text really large, etc. etc.

OMG Jack

You have the WYSIWYG add link option available?

It would be a NICE plugin, I have been dying for this type of option, as it would make things a lot easier for people wanting to add links who have Zero html skills.

$250 is a bit steep :(

Hi Sandra,

Unfortunately it's not really a "plugin" yet, but we're working towards that. Will post more info when it's more widely available.

ok. thanks. Where you post it? So I can have afollow up of that thread.

Is it possible only to display html editor only on certain category forms?

It will likely be in the Announcements forum.

And yes, with some custom changes, it should be possible to display only if certain conditions apply.
