GLinks as a Classifieds?
How do I make GLinks a classified ads script?
Is there a plug-in?

Also, does anyone know of anyone using GLinks to run a classifieds site?

Thanks

Hi,

Here are two examples, the truck site: http://www.buyatruck.net/

and an "experienced" implementation on http://www.bigfishtackle.com/classifieds/ that I recall off the top of my head.

Hello Jack!

A very interesting thread! Smile

Few questions:
  1. buyatruck.net - Click to Email Seller: sendmail.cgi?ID=xxx How to do this?
  2. buyatruck.net - Email This Listing To Friend: Tell_A_Friend.cgi?ID=xxx How to do this?
  3. How link owner can delete an ad when his product or service is sold?
  4. How to set that ads automatically expires, for example, in 6 months?

I run GL version 3.1.0 Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know what features the classified plugin has? there's no info on the GLinks plugin page.

I got the impression that the features are built in to the latest version of GLinks.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks

I though the same thing.
Where do you get the plug-in from because I though it was in GLinks already?

Anyone?

You'll find the features built into the "Payments" section of the GLinks admin panel.

Excellent!

How do you turn it on?
Aside from being able to accept payments, does it function as a real classifieds plug-in? Like adding pictures and classified specifics.

Thanks

Adding pictures, etc. is a simple task of adding new fields to the database, all instructions are in the GLinks manual.

Oh, thanks Jack.

---------------------------------

Is there any plug-ins out there that will turn GLinks into a real classifieds without myself having to read a manual, add fields, or have an intimate knowledge of GLinks and programming and the like but that will automatically make it a click and go classifieds program, similar to eclassifieds?

Thanks

Unfortunately, there's no easy road to anywhere worth going.

You can contract with one of the knowledgeable people here on the forum or with GT directly to perform the custom work required to suit your requirements. You do not need "intimate" knowledge of the program, you simply need to invest either a little time or some money into it.

A lot of these plug-ins I would say make the raod easy and they are well worth it.
