different templates ?
Hi,

is it also possible to use different templates for the following sites:

"add link" , "change link", "new links" , "top links" , "detailed search" , "log-in" ?

I use my site for 3 different countries, so I have 3 different templates (3 different colors). When a user registers new, I want him to go to the sign-up page but stay with the same country-color.

Thanks for help !

Are you using different template sets for the different colours? If so, I can't see what the problem is? Can you explain a bit more?

Edit: Maybe you're not in dynamic mode? You need to pass in t=templatename into the url.

yes, I´m using 3 different templates for 3 different colors:

http://www.investment-fonds.com/_sterreich/index.html
http://www.investment-fonds.com/Deutschland/index.html
http://www.investment-fonds.com/Schweiz/index.html

the problem is:

if somebody is going to the blue-color-template and wants to register as a user, the template does not keep to be blue.
What I want is like this: If a user goes to the first category called "Deutschland" (template-color: blue) and if he then wants to register (by choosing a username and password) at my website, then the template color should also be blue at the registration website.

So to explain it simple:
I have users of 3 different countries and I want to have the color for each country to be the same at the full website for each of these 3 special countries.

BTW: how do I check if I´m in dynamic-mode or not ? how do I pass in t=templatename into the url ?

it seems that I need 3 different template-sets and one default-template.
where and how do I save the 3 different template-sets ?

Assuming you have shell access, I would go into your template directory and copy default to another name twice. Then the new template sets should appear in the dropdown list in admin->build->user templates and you can start editing them. I think you may need the Pagebuilder plugin to show all templates statically (or you could run them dynamically but use static urls using rewrite rules). To show a different template set dynamically (if you just want to see how it looks without building your whole site), just add t=templatename to the end of the dynamic url. You can view your site dynamically if you click on 'dynamic' in your admin.

Hi Erich,

To build all three template sets at the same time and have all the Add, Modify functions etc. continue to work, you need to have the multi-language plugin.

Otherwise, it's a matter of copying the templates and then changing the build template set after each build.

The first method is cleaner, but requires a US$500 plugin, the second method is not as neat, but free.

Jack,

I actually do not need 3 different languages (the languages in all of these 3 countries is german, so it´s all the same language). I just need 3 different background images (blue, green, red).

Is there another way to do this ?

Hi Erich,

I am aware that you do not need 3 different languages, but the multi-language plugin is the only one that can handle building pages using three different template sets that you are asking for.

The other way you could do it is with Dynamic pages. An example on our own demo of Links SQL:

Default templates, static:

AV templates, dynamic:

Snap templates, dynamic:
