I'd like to back up without doing a build but am not sure how. I go to Import/Export, type in backup and it doesn't work. I type in /backup and it saves but is considered a directory. Ideally, I'd like to save a backup directly onto my c drive.

If you goto 'Database > Import/Export', and then go to the "Create backup file of all Links SQL data" part. Then type in the path to where you want the backup file to be created. For example,
/home/yournamew/public_html/cgi/admin/backup/backup-22-1-2002.sql
Then click on the 'Backup' data button and it should create the file for you. Remember that the directory you are creating into must be CHMODed to 777.
Hope that helps
