backup database
Hi,

When I try to backup my database I get this message:

CRITICAL ERROR OCCURED: Unable to open D:/My Documents/Tour_New_England/Database Backup for writing: No such file or directory at /home/tournewengland/www/cgi-bin/links/admin/Links/Import/S2BK.pm line 90

I have Links SQL 2.1.2 I select database - select import/export - select backup data. I have tried to back it up to a folder on my computer and also tried to back it up to a directory on my server. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Stephen

Hi,

Wrong forum =) (I've moved it for you now)

Are you on a UNIX or NT server? You're paths seem a bit confusing:

D:/My Documents/Tour_New_England/Database Backup - Windows (NT) style folder
/home/tournewengland/www/cgi-bin/links/admin/ - UNIX style folder path

You sure you don't have some paths wrong in Setup > Paths & URL's ?

Cheers

HI Andy,
We are on a UNIX server. I'll check on the paths. Thanks.

I have a similar problem when trying to 'backup database'

I thought that I had better check the 'backup procedure' as my hosting account recently had a problem with MySql server connections.

I geth this error message:

CRITICAL ERROR OCCURED: Unable to open /backupbycolin for writing: Permission denied at /home/fhlinux163/u/ukinsurancelinks.com/user/htdocs/cgi-bin/admin/Links/Import/S2BK.pm line 90

any help appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Colin,

You should input the full path for the directory which will be put the backup file in. If your folder /backupbycolin is existed, please just change its permission to 666. That should work
