I need numbers
Can someone give me information about
1. How many links can Links SQL 2.03 handle? 100,000?
2. How many links can a category hold? 3,000?
3. How many categories and sub categories can it have?

These questions have been answered before.

But again, it depends on your hardware. If you have a fast powerful server then Links SQL could probably cope with 500,000 to 1,000,000 links. I currently have 550,000 links on a server with 256MB RAM and it takes about 3 seconds for a search (on average - searches producing more results takes longer). If you install mod_perl then it will obviously be quicker, as would it be if you had more RAM.

Those 550,000 links have 120,000 categories and so that should give you an idea about what sort of figures are involved.

Does it not also depend on activity? For example, if your site were real busy, say you had just a minimum of 50 people doing searches on your site, would then the time not go up on the searches, and could it then still handle the large amount of links in the system. Since all people would be using resources on the site, I think it would slow down and or not handle 500,00 - 1M links in the system.

Like Paul mentioned, this has been discussed before.

Yes, traffic is always a factor.
