Backup Data 2.0.3 to 2.0.4

Backup Data 2.0.3 to 2.0.4
I updated Links SQL from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4 and I have an old Backup file with my links (from 2.0.3)
Now, I want to get all these "old" links back and I ask you can I simply use this 2.0.3 backup file to get my links back?
I ask, because I noticed that in 2.0.4 additional fields (Contact Email and Contact Name) were added, which are not in my 2.0.3 Backup file.

It would be nice if you could give me an answer if I can use this "old" Backup file to import the links in 2.0.4
Thanks

I don't think you will be able to easily import the backup into the new structure of Links 2.0.3. You might be able to try the IMPORT function in MySQLMan and select only the fields you are want to import and see if that works. If not, there may be something within the installation script that will take data from the old table structure and seamlessly import the data into the new structure.

Hi Eliot,
Do you think that the structure of Links 2.0.4 is so different from 2.0.3?
I thought there are only two new fields and if I import my 2.0.3 Data Backup-File only this fields wonīt be imported.
So I thought only the Links .def files are different and after a resync they will have the new two fields again...?
isnīt it right or are there other informations in the Backup file?

Addy

Well, those two added columns ARE a different structure, thus if your columns do NOT match as they won't, then importing would be difficult.

What you could is the following:

1) Delete the two new columns.
2) IMPORT your data from backup.
3) Then re-add those two new columns.
