A few problems/questions
1) Building with template set.

i can't do it. i click on you are currently working on and then select the template set and click change. When i click build all it goes back to the default and the pages are built in default. what am i doing wrong?

2) index.html and then directory

is there no way to set it up so the homepage is built in one place say www.domain.com but then all the other folders are made inside something like www.domain.com/dir - this seems to make it a lot easier to manage a site if using it for more than links.

more coming but these are most importnat. thanks

Ok i tried to import from my other installation (beta 1 i think).

Anyway, it gave me message
Import error: CRITICAL ERROR OCCURED: Cannot open /home/snip.

As it was outside home dir i download the def files and put them on same domain and made sure it was correct path. Still got same critical error. I know the files are there. Also, if the path is wrong you get a different error message which is
The path to the Links 2.x def and db files that you gave does not exist

so i am pretty sure i am doing it right. Any ideas?

That build problem I had, too. I solved it by copying all the templates that you want to build into the default template directory. I think build always uses the template files in the default directory, the other directorys are just templates for the dynamic page.cgi script.

Having another look it appears you are right. This seems really bizarre, is there no way to make it so that you can choose which template set to build with? This would be very useful.
