Server Apache denied access to Static Pages
Hi,
my version of Links SQL doesn't permitt to access Static Pages

I use:
- Win 98
- APACHE
- PERL
- MySQL

The message error on my browser is:

-----------------------------
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/pages/ on this server.

----------------------------------------------------------

Apache/1.3.19 Server at localhost Port 80
-----------------------------

Is a problem of Server Configuration? Maybe httpd.conf file?

thanks for all

Salvatore

You should build your static pages outside of your cgi-bin directory.

PLEASE search the forum next time. I answered exactly the same question a few days ago...

You can't build the static pages in your cgi-bin...otherwise Apache will process them as Perl scripts, and therefore not show them correctly Wink

Changing it to a non-cgi folder should sort your problem out...

Thanks Andy,
BUT you must say that I change di directory where STATIC PAGES run exactly the new directory is:
http://localhost/pages
(with pc path: c:/program files/apache group/apache/htdocs/pages)

I went in SETUP of LINKS SQL and I changed build_root_url AND build_root_path

but when I go in Static of Panel Control of LINKS SQL
a messagge appear in my browser (the directory in URL address is always the same http://localhost/cgi-bin/pages/)

----------------------
Forbidden

------------------------------------------------------------Apache/1.3.19 Server at localhost Port 80

Maybe I must re-install all again?

cheers,

Salvatore

If it is only a local test copy you are using, then I would recommend just re-installing it. It may be less hassle than trying to fix your other problem....

Cheers
