ok, thanks Smile

Q: i can see default template directory + default/local directory

looks like any editing / modifications that I do are saved to the /local directory

(leaving the "original" email-mod.txt unaffected in the default directory - I suppose to prevent "messingup" and allowing original file to be restored?)

yip, you got it.

the system automatically makes a copy of the file in the "local" folder and keeps the original in tact. that way you can revert back to the original if it all goes wrong. Wink

what effect does changing the template have on this?

will I have to edit the same for the new template?

You can modify the templates through the admin area:

Admin > Build > User Templates

and that'll save a copy automatically into the Local folder.

Or if you're doing it by hand just copy the template into the local folder yourself and edit the new one (the one in the local folder).

The template has the link you're looking for inside it. So, if you change the template - ie. change the link - that the effect will be that the link will be changed. Crazy
