Constant Repair Tables
Since the upgrade to 2.0.4 I now have to constantly 'Repair Tables' everytime I add a link or verify links.

Quite often when it does this it finds errors in the number of links in certain categories (and fixes them up).

I am running the New Graphics Plugin (which I know there is a problem with), however was wondering whether anyone else was experiencing the same problem?

Regards,

Clint.

This may be a problem on your end.

"New graphics program" ... do you mean the "Days Old" ?

If you are running in pure dynamic mode, you need to run the "repair tables" to update the new/cool stats every day.

I don't know what Alex's fix for this will be, but maybe setting the "repair table" function to run as a cron job, will help.

Nope .... not running in dynamic mode. For some reason whenever I validate links or add links and do a rebuild the new graphics don't show up correctly (looking for new_327.gif etc).

When I do a repair it all works fine.

I have noticed a 'considerable' slowness in my system since the v2.0.4 update, in particular in builds. Where it use to take me a couple of minutes it now takes several minutes.

I have been 'assured' that nothing on my server has changed to cause this (but you never know!).

I've always had this exact problem and am now just resigned to running the repair tables every update. It's just one of many niggly little problems with Links SQL but I've never been able to get a solution to any of them.
I've got 2.0.3 and I dare not upgrade to 2.0.4 - at least it works the way it is!

This is a problem with the "NEW" flags. The repair tables should fix it. If you find what records are causing that, look at the add_date and mod_date fields, see if they give you a clue to what is happening.

The build process does a heck of a lot more now, than it used to. I have not built a static site since 2.0, I've gone all dynamic to use the extra features, so I can't compare it.

Could it be something in your database? Has it been repaired? I mean the MySQL database itself -- "isamchk" and all that rot??

Probably a stupid question...but..........

Using 2.0.4 Should I have to repair tables every time I make a move using the Category Browser??

It's really not a problem, but I'm wondering if my install is screwed up because of other problems,( Challenges ) I'm having.

Thanks,
