Only show some categories...

Only show some categories...
Hi,

I have a few times asked here if there were anyone who knew how I could make Linkssql run with one than more links table structure, making it possible to do more than one "searchengine" with the one and same version of Linkssql (I guess that we aren't allowed to install more than one version on the same server, with only one license?).

I want to run an affiliate directory on www.domainname.com, and want to make a recipe directory on recipe.domainname.com.

I had hoped that I could just install Linkssql twice, and then my problems would be solved. But can I do that? I want this because I want different table structures, because of the difference in the links I'm going to add.

Does anyone know if I can do that?

and does anyone know if I can make a link property, where I of course say, recipe (Yes/No), Affiliate (Yes/no), and then make a webpage on recipe.domainname.com telling only to show the links with the property recipe=yes?

Please help if anyone can,

Thanks,

Bent

Hi,

Correct, like most software, one license is good for one installation of the program.

To do what you need would be pretty tricky. It would definately involve having to go through the code and adding filters to display only the links you want for a specific area.

What you could try is making two top level categories: Affiliates and Recipies. Then set up your server so recipies.domain.com goes to the home page/recipies. It would take a little bit of clever template work to make happen, but could be doable.

Cheers,

Alex

Hi Alex.

Would That template work be expensive?

Take care,
