Permissions Problem for IIS 5.0/Win2k Server Platform
In follow-on to a post some days ago, I am continuing to have difficulty setting permissions correctly. I have been unable to find any kind of reference manual on Links SQL that would provide me with the correct permissions settings for a proper installation of Links SQL. Extensive searching on the archives of this forum also proved fruitless. I've put in a call to tech support but got a recording. I'm not complaining -- just expressing what my experience has been thus far.

Without a roadmap on permissions, I have been trying and failing to get the permissions right. At present, I've got the following specific problem:

Using the search box or calling a dynamic URL (link) brings up the Win2k Server/IIS username/password box.

If someone has the solution to this immediate problem, I'll take that and run. If someone could post the full permissions specifications for a proper installation, that would be even better.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

The installer normally sets all the permissions automatically, so you don't have to.

All scripts should be 755, (depending on your server).

Have you tried running it in shell?

Thanks -- however, your answer seems more relevant to a Unix user. I'm not using a shell, and the permissions information doesn't convert directly to the Windows 2k Server world.

Right, sorry, I have no clue then.

Hi

This sounds like a IIS setting.

Check you allow anonymous access for the site and check that you allow

scripts to run.
