Paid inclusion

Paid inclusion
Hi, this may seem like a simple question but how do I ensure that my paid links customers are always at the top of the category pages? I can't find the answer. Also, is there some way that I can attach an image to paid listings like the new or modified listings have. I have the feeling that i have missed something fundamental somewhere! :-)

Thanks,

jez.

Paid links should already be shown at the top of category listings.

If you edit the link.html template, you can use the isPaidLink tag to determine if a link is a paid one. So, something like <%if isPaidLink%>This is a paid link<%endif%>

Adrian,

Whoops! Edited this as I missed vital info in the payment set up page! Just tested it and now the payments are verified.

New question! How do I mark all the existing paid inclusions manually?

best,

Jez.

Once a payment has been made and the payment goes through (there may be a delay with some of the payment methods), the link's Expiry Date should change from Awaiting payment to when the link's payment will expire.

Which payment method are you using?

I'm using paypal. I just tested it and it works fine now. I just need to know now how to maunually mark the older paid links as paid as they do not appear as paid links (even though the expiry is set to never). I only have about 7 or 8 to do but probably need to do it before the people notice their link isn't at the top of the category.

Thanks again for your help, Adrian.

If the links are in a category that accepts payments (whether because you have made payments required or optional globally, or per category), and the link's Expiry Date is set to a date or Never, then it should show up as a paid link. If it isn't, send me admin panel access and which links you're referring to and I'll take a look.

Adrian,

Thanks. I think I have it straight now. The ones that weren't appearing at the top were because I had added some others that were unpaid, as paid. You know, preffered links and friends and as they were alpahbetically higher, appeared higher..

I will add that bit of code also so that it's easy for the browser to differentiate between the paid and unpaid inclusions.

Thanks for your excellent help, you have been great.
