Mod_Perl
Re the docs...

1. First run the install.cgi from shell to unpack the Links SQL files. When
asked if using persistent connections, be sure to say Yes.

.. where is this option??

I have run install.cgi from the web and again from shell but it doesnt show!! mod_perl is on my server.

where is this option??

I believe that in the latest version of Links SQL, persistant connections are automatically detected.

I think Alex forgot to update the readme.

Yes, your right of course, I was reading from the supplied mod_perl doc
which isn't updated.

Is there a way to determine if Links is actually using Mod_perl
and not "auto detected" incorrectly.

Thanks.

I think that if it auto-detected incorrectly (which it wouldn't) then your scripts would give errors.

Hi,

If you click on Setup->Environment you will see a line:

Persistant Env: mod_perl (0) SpeedyCGI (0)

This is what Links SQL thinks the program is running on, and it should be right. Just because mod_perl is in Apache, does not mean your script is using it.

Cheers,

Alex
