This topic has been discussed before but no solution was posted and the person who posted it was given some grief ;-)

Version Links v2.1.0.
Plugins installed: Days old, Search Logger, XML, couple of custom globals

Initially when setting up the links directory I had the indexing scheme set to nonindexed. Then I realized that the search results were not listed in order of relevance. Read a couple of posts here and switched to Internal indexing scheme.

After switching I did the following:

Resynced the Links --> Properties (I made sure that the URL index field was set to 1

Repaired Table

Rebuild Search

But now I cannot search by the URL when I use the Search box on the site.

BUT I can search by URLs just fine when I use the direct URL query such as

search.cgi?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aaos.org

Help appreciated.

I hate replying to my own posts especially when there is not an answer in the reply.

Has anybody run into this problem before and if so how did you fix it?

I swear that I have done all the resyncing, rebuilding etc but the URL field is not getting indexed despite being set properly in the Links --> Properties table.
