VBulletin Plugin
Alex, are you doing a v2.0 version of the plugin? I know it is still in beta, well at the moment it is in beta3 with beta4 due out imminantly (and i am 99% sure there is no change to the logging in fuctions) perhaps you will create the plugin for beta4?

cheers,

chris

Hi Chris,

I probably won't have a chance to do it twice so will wait for 2.0 to be finished. You may want to look at the one that is out there as I don't think the change will be too difficult.

Cheers,

Alex

ok. I think there might be a change though, the session table for vbulletin has definitely changed, i think the log in routines are quite different as well now but will still have a look.

Alex,

You may want to fix the errors in the plugin *About* page...it says....

It will allow:

1. Users who log into Links SQL can seamlessly move to the forum without re logging in.

2. Users who log into vBulletin can seamless move to Links SQL without relogging in.

3. If you have an account in vBulletin, and use Links SQL, your account will automatically get setup in Links SQL.

4. If you change your password in Links SQL, your forum password will automatically be changed as well.

5. Deleting a user in Links SQL will remove that user in vBulletin.

2. You can not add users into Links SQL directly, you must create the user in WWWThreads.

This plugin has been tested with version 1.1.5 only, your mileage may very.

I think VBulletin 2.0 is inches away from a full release. Hoping to integrate VB 2.0 with Linkssql

Two questions:

1) If we use this, which control Panel will members see when logging in etc? vb?

2) How long will it take before LinksSQL has a plugin for version2 of VB? (I think they are working on release candidate 4)

Would ahve to have these interated before we go live, even if it may take us another month before I figure this darn program out.

Hi,

1. Users will log into VBulletin, sign up via VBulletin, retrieve passwords via VBulletin. The benefit is, if they are logged into VBulletin, and try to add a resource, Links SQL will save their username as their VBulletin username. Thus your forum users could move straight to Links SQL and modify their own resources without re-logging in.

2. Once the final is released, we will put out a plugin in a few days.

Cheers,

Alex
