Payments
Hi,

Does anyone know how to setup two different payment amounts for 1 year. It seems that you can only set (1) .

Like the following:

$5.00 1 YEAR
$10.00 1 YEAR

Thanks in advance!!

You could try:

$5.00 1 YEAR [ Set this to 12 months , 52 weeks or 365 days.]
$10.00 1 YEAR [ Set this to 1 year ]

Hi rascal

I asked the same question in May 29, 2004 with no result.

Depending on your situation, you may need to hardcode the "1 year" term in the payment templates.
Have a look in payment.html and payment_form.html for
<%term_unit%> and <%payment_term_unit%>

Thanks for responding minesite,

Hopefully Gossamer will see this second post and help us out, I'm sure this will
be brought up by future purchasers of LinksSql.

I think we need to put a band-aid on the payment system.

Payment amounts are stored in the config as period => amount, so that's why you can't have two payment periods that are the same. Why do you have two same periods with different costs? The only way around this, that I can think of right now. would be to do what minesite says, modify the payment templates.

Simple Answer,

$5.00 1 YEAR (less service)
$10.00 1 YEAR (more service)

Now does this not look foolish:

$5.00 12 Months (less service)
$10.00 1 YEAR (more service)

People purchasing services email me all the time, asking me why 12 months is there instead of 1 Year.

Now I see this as a problem that needs to be corrected!!

To Gossamer Threads:

I believe that I made a valid point in my previous post and would like to know if this is in the process of being corrected.

What you're doing is extending what Gossamer Links was designed to do (which usually can be done easily, but not so in this case). Very few people have a use for such functionality, so essentially what you're asking is for us to change the current structure of the payment system for you, when you can get around this limitation by modifing your payment templates. If this were a simple change, I would do it, but it's a somewhat complicated one that would require quite a lot of changes to be made.

I would be stating :

$5.00 12 month basic
$10.00 1 year premium

They would need to be differientiated for your customers to understand the differences as well, so they would need different names.
