[NEW PLUGIN] google optimized static pages (gosp)

Hi,

I plan to publish a Plugin with that the static LSQL pages becomes "Google friendly urls", because the title in the url is an important criterion for the Google ranking.

Now with LSQL the static pages looks like this:

http://www.your.url.com/Detailed/1.html
http://www.your.url.com/Detailed/2.html
http://www.your.url.com/Detailed/3.html...

With my new "google optimized static pages (gosp)"-Plugin the static pages looks like this:

http://www.your.url.com/Detailed/this_is_the_title_of_the_first_link_1.html
http://www.your.url.com/Detailed/this_is_the_title_of_the_second_link_2.html
http://www.your.url.com/Detailed/this_is_the_title_of_the_third_link_3.html...

and additionally:

http://www.your.url.com/name_of_category/name_of_subcategory/.../details/this_is_the_title_of_the_first_link_1.html
http://www.your.url.com/name_of_category/name_of_subcategory/.../details/this_is_the_title_of_the_second_link_2.html
http://www.your.url.com/name_of_category/name_of_subcategory/.../details/this_is_the_title_of_the_third_link_3.html

Further in the table "Links" you would have the possibility to give your links altogether 5 title for different keywords.

Example:

The first title of your Link:
"Gossamer Threads: building web applications since 1995"

The second title of the same Link:
"Web applications: since 1995 with Gossamer Threads"

The third title of the same link:
"Engineering: Gossamer Threads has been building web applications since 1995"

For all of the links are build own static html sites as described above.

With the Plugin it will give further a possibility the mata tags to optimize. This is no longer completely so interesting, because many search engines ignore meta tags, but some still pick the tags out.

Is this interesting plugin for someone?

Examples you could find at : http://www.geizkragen.de

Hi Flasi,

I noticed you have "The Newest Entry" when going into a category - and the rest of the artticles are listed below - how did you do that?

Hey Flasi,

Sounds great! I've been wanting to do those very same things for my detailed pages. Google loves the url keywords. Hopefully the recent abuse of the directory/page keywording won't change that.

So yes I'd be very interested in your "GSOP". Smile

One suggestion. If possible make an option to build those pages using both underscores and hypen seperation.

Ex:

http://www.yoururl.com/...he_first_link_1.html

http://www.yoururl.com/...he-first-link-1.html

Many top "SEO's" swear by the hypens instead of the underscore.

Good luck on the plug and hope to see it soon!

Hi,

thank you for your comments! The Plugin develops well. I think in two days have I the first beta version finished.

@jonze
You will change problem-free between underscores and hypens :-)

This sounds like an interesting plug-in. How will it deal with titles with commas or other special characters?

Thought I'd give this thread a quick bump in case Flasi is still looking for beta testers.

Flasi, I've sent you a PM. Just let me know and I'll help out any way I can.

Would be great if this could convert any uppercase terms into lower case for the url:

..../Category/name_of_link.html

to:

..../category/name_of_link.html

Thanks.

The only prob is that some servers do not have ReWrite turned on. That's why I was thinking that there might be a way to get the script to modify the urls. Maybe add some fields and use them instead.

I noticed at flasi's site that his Cat names in the URLs are lower case, but in the breadcrumb, they are mixed case:

Are you using yogis rewrite, or did you come up with something in the plugin for this?

Thanks Smile

I believe it might be wondeful if such plugin was made, however I also believe Yogi also deserves credit for his work too.. :) however for people who don't really feel comfertable doing things by themselves, a plugin might be a good alternative.

Do you mean yogi's pagebuilder plugin?

Yogi's pagebuilder is FANTASTIC.

I wish he would update it though to allow more flexible file and path naming, test building and on/off building of pages.

I'd pay something for an update from him. Who else would? Maybe we can tempt him?

New Version of PageBuilder from Yogi In reply to
What's nominal? $45?

Well, 10 people *45 = $450 :)

I bet Yogi would consider working on a new version of PageBuilder for $450.

Could you do $45?

I'd put in $180 (4*45) to get it started. Then we would need 5 more people, assuming I'm right that he would possibly take an interest. Of course, he may be TOO busy.

Do I hear any more takers??
