Great! thanks! but for some reason, when I download the plugin I get the following error:

Quote:

Unable to load install file: Unable to load plugin StaticURLtr Reason: Install.pm does not compile: Invalid symbol: :objects imported by Plugins::StaticURLtr

Do I need to edit something?

What version of GLinks do you have installed? The plugin only works with GLinks 3.0.1 or higher.

Am I understanding this correctly that this plugin can replace an underscore in the Title field with a hyphen?

So:

page_title-23.html

can become

page-title-23.html

Im using this configuration but still getting underscores in the Title output.

replacements: _:-
build_detail_format: %Full_Name%/%Title%-%ID%

OK, fixed it.

Instead of

replacements: _:-

is should be

replacements: (space):-

Great!

I just updated the plugin to version 1.0.1. See the changelog in the original post of this thread.

I got category titles like: xyz & abc.

I was able to configure the plugin so that the path looks like xyz_/_abc/. What means I switched the & to /. How can I remove the spaces. They should not be transformed to underline (_).

Thanks for programmer for that funktionality!

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're doing there. You can change spaces to whatever character by adding " :-" (without the quotes, and that example is space to dash). However, remember that after the plugin makes these changes, GLinks will still make its normal replacements, so anything that isn't one of a-zA-Z0-9./- will get changed to an underscore (_).

Hi!

Right now my category name is "xyz & abc".

I configured the script with &:/ which results in names for the categories like xyz_/_abc

Now I also would like to remove the (space) so that the result at the end looks like xyz/abc

Perhaps you'll want to try the replacement " & :/"

For the title Jane & John I am hoping to get the URL jane-john. However I am getting is jane-_amp_-john

I am using below code for replacement (Wihout quote marks (") ):

Quote:
" & :-"
". :-"
", :-"
" :-"

Any idea how to fix this.

Thank you.

From the looks of that, Jane & John is probably getting passed into the plugin as "Jane & John", so the & and ; are getting changed to _. Try adding a replacement " & :-".

how does one run this in the dynamic pages?

I don't think this will work with dynamic pages. For dynamic you need to use mod-rewrite - do a search on the forum, many users who are experts on mod-rewrite has discussed it in great details.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Yup, your correct - it won't work in dynamic mode (Matthias tried to get it working, but had no success)

Sorry Guys for bringing up this old thread. But after seeing last post was made in 2008, I thought I could post here :)

I downloaded the plugin.

My settings are these:

build_category_format - Full/Long Category/Name
build_category_dynamic - Full_Name
build_detail_format - LinkID

===================
My intention is to prduce Category URLs with hyphens WITHOUT touching present 'Detailed' pages (if possible).

I read the forum threads and more confused. How to go about with this?

Plugin says 'I need to update the replacements'. What are those?

thanks.

O. I got it worked.

1.I left the settings:

build_category_format - Full/Long Category/Name
build_category_dynamic - Full_Name
build_detail_format - LinkID

My intention is to prduce Category URLs with hyphens WITHOUT touching present 'Detailed' pages (if possible).

2. Added replacements:

:-
&:-
_:-
.:-
,:-
;:-
':-
=:-
$:-
%:-
::-
!:-
?:-
%:-
&:-
+:-
(:-
):-
[:-
]:-
@:-

3. Run 'Built' to built Category URLs with hyphen.

No change has been done to Detailed/LinkID.shtml

I am just posting if anybody can use it.
