It probably shouldn't be "Title-Link-%ID%" but "%Title%-%Link%-%ID%" (but there's no Link column by default, so I'm guessing that column exists on your install.

I used this hack before I know many users used this hack
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/...i?post=216197#216197

Can someone please look in to this and perhaps write some rewrite rule. I think this will be problem for all the other users who used the detail rewrite hack on the previous LSql. I think it would be very helpful for all of us.
On the previous LSql the detail URLs looked like this:

http://www.domain.com/Some_Category/Link_title _L141/

on the GL3 it looks like this:

http://www.domain.com/detailed/Some_Category/Link_title _L141.html

would this be possible to rewrite it so it looks like the old ones?

(http://www.domain.com/Some_Category/Link_title _L141/)

Thanks

PS: there is no way how to do this from setup (I tried all possibilities)

Hey guys I figure it out. God bless me!

It’s not that difficult when even I can figure it out, I hope it will work with all the other staff. I didn’t test it yet. All I did is to set up the build_detail_format on linkID and I’m using the same hack from yogi.. Thanks yogi you made such beautiful hack, God bless you too.

This is a *test* install without any extra link/category/user/review properties, so in other words just a default properties of GLinks.

Below are the results for the settings:

build_detail_format : Advanced [Title-Link-%ID%] : http://www.test.trpn.com/1/a/Title-Link-1.html
build_detail_format : Advanced [Title-Link-%ID%] : http://www.test.trpn.com/..._Title-%Link%-1.html

So by using %Title%-%Link%-%ID% it is actually giving me error, however detailed URL is working great when I use Title-Link-%ID%

My problem is with the "CATEGORY URL" as it is still using "underscore" and not "hyphen". What settings shall I use for build_category_format (right now I am using Full/Long Category/Name)?

Well looks like the URL for the detailed Page still uses underscore, Here is the out put

http://www.test.trpn.com/...ahoo_Services-2.html now if there is a way to change this output to http://www.test.trpn.com/...ahoo-Services-2.html it would very helpful.

Also same things applies for Category Structure, instead of "underscore" (http://www.test.trpn.com/1/Category_1/index.html) use of hyphen (http://www.test.trpn.com/1/Category-1/index.html) would be much better.

Sending you admin access it not a problem, I am just trying to understand the problem.

So you are saying, that once the plugin is install the normal detail page and category page would normally read

category page : http://www.domain.com/...gory-name/index.html
detaield page : http://www.domain.com/...l-link-title-id.html

right?

Yes, if things are configured to be like that and are configured properly.

You need to configure the plugin before it will do anything. For your purposes, all you needed to add was " :-" for replacements.

Hi,

Sorry for my sillyness, it seems like I figured it out, I was just never clicking on the "Edit" link once the plugin was installed and hence didn't knew what you were taking about. I did it and in the replacement I just pring " :-" and that was it. It worked.

*edit*
Cool this plugin rocks, I just created another category Test One and Test Two Category and was able to produce url like http://www.test.trpn.com/...-category/index.html this is just awasome.
  1. I noticed that replacing and with nothing actually changes the URL of the category Error Handling to http://www.test.trpn.com/...ror-hling/index.html is there any way around this?

This plugin rocks.

Thanks again for the help.

Looks good,

Is there/will there be any way of doing this for dynamic generated pages?

What are you expecting?! You told to replace "and" with "", and it's doing it.

No, there isn't due to the way dynamic url's are handled.

Hi Adrian,

I was just wondering if there was any way to change it so that it will only change "whole" letter and not part of it. So for example if Cat is supposed to be replaced to Dog, It will not change Category to Dogegory and so on. Also, I am having it set to change every capital letter to small letter too, but with above suggestion it gets little tricky, but for me to create such script/plug-in right now is like impossible task, and your help in this matter is greatly appreciated..

Also, this is not that big of a deal, so if you are unable to add this feature is not going to hurt much, I was just thinking if there was way for doing it.

I personally think you have done a great job in creating this plugin and I am sure along with me there are many others who are thankful too.

Again keep up the great work and thank you for creating such an awasome plugin.

I am no expert, but I think you might be able to do it on the dynamic side via mod_Rewrite.

Re: [SWDevil.Com] New GLinks 3.0.1+ plugin: StaticURLtr In reply to
how to use it with TOP page listing?
for example I put "random links" global:
<%set Random_CatID = 1%>
<%Random_Link%>
<%loop Random_Loop%>
<li></li><a target="_self" href="<%Title%>-<%ID%>.html"><FONT size=-1><%Title%></font></a>&nbsp;<i>by <%Contact_Name%></i></font><br>
<%endloop%>

but it prints URL not a StaticURLtr based.

how to build the URL based on StaticURLtr global?

I installed the StaticURL plugin and it's working great for the static detailed.html pages. I am having problems with page linking. I have a newest links global for the home page and can link the static detailed pages using /glinks/pages/Detailed/<%ID%>.html so far all is well. How can I link to the dynamic detailed pages from the home page using an if statement? Such as-

if
static use /glinks/pages/Detailed/<%ID%>.html
else
???

It's a free plugin and you can find it in the G Links Admin under Plugins. You can download and install it from there also. Wink
