Thanks - I managed to jiggle them about anyway (was just 2 off by 1 pixel lol) ... then I made some changes to the CSS, and all seems good now :)

Ok this bug is REALLY pissing me off! Spent the last 3 hours trying to debug it. IE is SOOOO crap at giving errors that make sense!!!!

The other issue I'm having, is I only have IE 8 - and even with the "emmulate" tag in place , IE 8 still seems to treat it as IE 8.

If ANYONE has IE 6 or 7, please send me an email or PM ... so I can send a test link (to see if you get an error)

I'm really starting to wonder if its this "IETester" program I'm using, thats just throwing up errors that actually are not errors.

haha always gonna be something simple! I had a , where I shouldn't .... and although IE 8, FF and Chrome didn't complain - anything less than IE 8 moaned. I've fixed this up now - and works a charm =)

About to post the updated version now Cool

I would like to use the images of the advanced rating plugin (yellow) with the code of the normal rate plugin.

I've noticed on your site that when you hover over your ratings stars (here for example) and they go from green to orange, no matter which star you click on the popup states "Are you sure you want to rate this link a 10 star rating?".

Is this a bug that you're aware of? I've tried it with both Firefox and IE8 with the same results.

There are no issues I know of with compressing JS files (you can do the same with CSS files too, and that makes quite a major difference - did some tweaks on one site last week, and a 20kb file was reduced by about 60% :) I may update the plugin at some point so it uses the compressed version (they have a release of the compressed version on jQuery's site)

Hi,

I've just uploaded a new version, which uses JQuery "compressed" (attached to the first post)

It also has a couple of bug fixes, as well as letting you customize what the error messages the script should look for when making a vote (i.e checking if they have already voted, or if they need to be logged in)

MMmm, after doing some debugging - looks like its this bit of CSS in your design thats doing it:

#detailed .voting_detail {text-align: right;}

The other bugs I'm still looking at - some are being a PITA (I'm trying to make it so we can automatically collect the "message" or "error" from the rate page, rather than having the messages hard coded)

Ok, should be sorted.

There were a few issues:

1) A mess up in the documentation for that 10 star advanced one
2) the .js file seemed to be an old version (not sure why though)
3) The foreign charachters were confusing the script - and it kept thinking the ratings were successful. This should be sorted now.

Just gotta update the plugin now.

Ok, I've just uploaded version 1.3 to the first post in this thread. I *really* hope all the bugs are fixed up now (spent far to much on this free plugin :/)

Also, when I want to rate and have mouseover 6th star, it's looks like shadow :) (till 5th star, it looks ok)

My FTP client turned out it wasn't uploading the right version - and in an attemp to get the right file, I've bloody overwritten it!!!! Mad
