Spider & Searching
I just installed Spider v1.11 and after the install I then start getting failures when conducting searches.

Unknown Tag: 'cat_hits' categories and
Unknown Tag: 'link_hits' Links

It looks like through the history that .01 had problem but that 1.11 should be working. I have gone through and uninstalled the plugin and everything returns to normal. Any suggestions would be appericated!

Thanks,

I get the same error. It happens only when the search engine finds any categories or links.
If the search engine only finds spider links, then it works!
I have edited the search_results.html template correctly, i think. Something must be wrong with the spider plugin! Anyone got a clue?

Are you using <%if%> ??

<%if cat_hits%><%cat_hits%><%endif%>
<%if link_hits%><%link_hits%><%endif%>

I tried that too, but then i don't get any search results. And I searched for a term which I know there should be link results for.

My template in that area is:

<FONT SIZE="-2" FACE="Verdana,Sans-Serif"><STRONG><%cat_hits%></STRONG></FONT><FONT SIZE="-2" FACE="Verdana,Sans-Serif" COLOR="#000000"><B> categories </B>and<BR></FONT>
<FONT SIZE="-2" FACE="Verdana,Sans-Serif"><STRONG><%link_hits%></STRONG>
<B>Links</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Verdana,Sans-Serif" COLOR="#000000"><BR>

Is it suppose to be:

<FONT SIZE="-2" FACE="Verdana,Sans-Serif"><STRONG><%if% cat_hits%><%cat_hits%><%endif%></STRONG></FONT><FONT SIZE="-2" FACE="Verdana,Sans-Serif" COLOR="#000000"><B> categories </B>and<BR></FONT>
<FONT SIZE="-2" FACE="Verdana,Sans-Serif"><STRONG><%if% link_hits%><%link_hits%><%endif%></STRONG>
<B>Links</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Verdana,Sans-Serif" COLOR="#000000"><BR>

I have added the <%if% cat_hits%><%cat_hits%><%endif%> and <%if% link_hits%><%link_hits%><%endif%>. But still no links nor categories are being displayed. I'm not getting any error messages at this time either. I've verifed that my category and link tags also have the correct if/end statements.

It is supposed to be <%if cat_hits%>, not <%if% cat_hits%>.
Anyway, I tried that, it does not work. The spider search works, but the "old" search does not.

Sorry, the extra % is a typo. I fixed it.

I tried to install a new version of links sql (2.0.3), but I still have problems! The spider search works, but the ordinary search does not. It would be interesting to know if anyone has installed the spider plugin with no problems.

I have found a way around temporarily to get the regular search to work without uninstalling the spider plugin.

If you go to Plugins -> Plugin Manager -> Then edit the spider plugin -> Remove the checkmark next to search_results (POST). Then you can at least have the plugin installed and having your regular search work.

Is there any status on where the GT crew is?

I would really like to get the spider plugin work properly. If anyone uses the spider plugin and has no problems, please tell us what you have done to make it work. I also tried to mail the support people, but unfortunately I have not got any answers.

I'm still awaiting an answer from GT on why were having the problems that were having. If this were a free plugin that's one thing. But spending some hard earned cash for this one is kind of hard to swallow.

Wondering if you were able to solve the problems with the Spider plugin. We're interested in getting it, but only if it works!
