under mod_perl, how many copies of gforum can be installed on the same server but in different directories?

Well if you have enough licenses ...... depends on server/posts/hits etc..

I am just wondering if running multiple independent forums with mod_perl, should I have to run rename all modules for each forum?

If you install into different directories then no, you don't need to rename anything.

Yes, you can run multiple copies under mod_perl, the program has been designed to work this way.

You can't of course then edit one of the .pm files, as it will either not take affect, or affect all installations. You must make all your changes via templates, globals or plugins.
