graphic attachment viewing
For some reason, (usually with IE) any graphic file post attachments will not open for viewing directly online -- when clicked, the broswer wants to download them instead.

Is there a way to change this so that the graphics are always viewable online?

Thanks,

RICHARD

that's pretty annoying... when I click on anything, it asks me twice if I want to download or open the file. Even more annoying is that attachments such as .cgi, .pl, and .pm files will execute rather than show its source code.

Exactly!

I hope someone can suggest a fix. Wink

That happens if you have perl installed and perl extensions associated with perl.exe

Than what causes the .gif and .jpg failures?

It's really more of bug with Windows/MSIE than anything else. Notice how when you download file attachements here the file name defaults to gforum.cgi? When I want to open files from my browser, I want it to open in the browser, not from a second program!

Actually, they always want to download with filename of the attachment -- at least for me.

refer my method

1. write a new post and upload a image file attachment ==> post it

2. view the post ==> copy the attachment URL

3. edit the post ==> past the image ULR ==> the image appear ==> post it

4. view the post ==> the image appear forever.

A unique method; however, this would be way too complicated for most of my forum users to even understand.
