User file backups
I can't believe I've had this forum running for almost 60 days and never thought about this.

What do I need to do to save the user files in case of a crash so our users won't have to re-register?

Please remember I am a Unix-idiot!

Thanks

Steve

You need to do a 'SQL Dump' from MySQLMan to a file on your server, and then download that file to either another server, or oyur local PC. If your forum is popular, this file can get quite large Wink

In addition to an SQL Dump, you'll want to backup the attachments directory (inside the admin directory), and the "users" directory inside the image_path (where you told GForum to install your images).
