Use DBMan-SQL Items_users Table?
Is there a way to use the DBMan-SQL Items_users Table for authentication for the Forums?

We have over 15,000 users and do not want to make them go through another sign-up process to use the forums.

Hi,

No, any user authentication sharing needs to be done through plugins. We are not at the stage yet (since it's only a beta) to have any sample ones done. This is something we will be working on soon though.

Alex,
Not having a common user logon interface is the only obstacle to our web site not using the entire suite of Links SQL, Gossamer Forum and DBManSQL products; we currently own Links SQL and are testing Gossamer Forum and DBMan (flat file version). Please consider upgrading the level of attention paid to the (acronym anybody?) "Common User Plug-in Architecture" (CUPA).

Thank you.

Hi Scott,

As mentioned in other threads, Gossamer Community is our top priority now. This will be the final part that will enable all of our products to share a singel user database, and provide common functions like signup, authentication, session management, etc.

Cheers,

Alex
