Problem with Mass Mailer sending email
Hi,

I've problems with the mass mailer.
I try to send a mailing to a selected group of users.

I see the mailing in the "View Mailings" menu with 0/17 sent.

Then I start the mailing.

The forum says:

---------------------------------
Started at Fri Jun 6 16:32:48 2003.

Sending emails ...

0 sent.

Mailing complete (0.01 s)

--------------------------------

After it the mailing have "has been completed" status when I return to "view mailings".

No Emails were sent.

The other forum-email-functions like validate emails have no problems.

We use Gossamer-Forum 1.1.8 German version.

Can someone help?!

Regards
Johannes

PS:
There is also a problem with saving a current mailing as template.
Please see http://www.gossamer-threads.com/...rum.cgi?post=245157;

I tried to replace all files for the mailing funtion with the files from the english version 1.2.0.

That means:
admin/GT/Mail.pm
admin/GT/Mail/BulkMail.pm
admin/GT/Mail/Send.pm
admin/GForum/MassMailer.pm
admin/nph-email.cgi
admin/templates/admin/email*

But the problem is still there.

What can I do to get it working?

Thanks
Johannes

In the setup section "Email" mail_path was empty and smtp_server was localhost.

I tried to use mail_path /usr/sbin/sendmail and empty smtp_server.

Than I started a mailing. Now there is the following error:

Code:

Started at Mon Jun 16 17:25:19 2003.

Sending emails ...

A fatal error has occurred:Could not reestablish connection at GT::Mail::BulkMail::_smtp_send line 818.
Please enable debugging in setup for more details.

Try setting the server name to "127.0.0.1" instead of "localhost" - the mailer module does not like being passed an e-mail server without a "." in the name as it technically isn't a valid hostname.
