Hi

As i do modifications in the templates (like 'include_header.html') through admin panel, they do not appear to visitors in my forum pages. These modifications are clearly recorded in the forum templates html files (i checked with ftp) but still the old 'header' appears.

i thought it might be a browser 'cache' problem but the problem occurs with Gforum only.

is there an option somewhere that could solve that problem or any idea about it ?



Moreover, apart of that and generally, i do not understand why such a complicate tool like 'Gforum' is not completely and clearly explained in a booklet in order to avoid so much time wasted searching for details.

When i bought it, i really did not expect to waste so much time.

As for the templates: make sure you edit the correct template set, and also check that the changes are in the 'local' directory of the template set, not in the main template set directory.

Thanks a lot for your fast answer and for the precious link to the PDF guide (shouldn't be in the 'Ressources' links ?).

About the templates, i did check that it is in the 'local' directory.

the only way to get results -sometimes only- is to

1/close all the internet explorer windows

2/ log again in admin panel

3/modify again the "include_header.html" (for example) and then sometimes, it works, i get the result in the forum pages.

Still, with such a mess i cannot manage the templates at all, as i have many modifications to do in the templates in order to get the page design that i wish. actually i am in the impossibility to manage the templates (eventhough the Forum categories management does work, but not the templates).

i really don't know what to do except give up and that would be too bad.

I do need technicians advice because i have no knowledge in programming.

As nothing worked with templates, i deleted all the forum files (and the huge work in it) in my site and i re-installed the forum as totally new with install.dat/.cgi.

Still, the same problem appears : eventhough the template files are modified (i downloaded them to check), the modifications do not appear for the visitors.

I followed your advices in your answer, but no result.

NB : Still all the other functions of GForum work correctly (The categories, the changes in the messages, ...). The templates only do not work.
