Is anyone limiting the length of the posts on their forums? (Idea to cut down the overhead on my meager server).

Maybe some kind of mod to the forum code or something, or suggestion for future version if there isn't already a way.

Nope, currently there is not built-in length limiter. I'm thinking about improving post control for 2.0.0 by adding more configuration - for example, maximum characters and maximum number of lines, and for markup, maximum font size, and maximum image size. Also several times requested is support for inline-images in posts.

Add in Windows Update-style updating, themes, a new template set, no more admin panel... 2.0.0 is definitely not going to be a small update.
