Guest online Vs. Actual guests online

Guest online Vs. Actual guests online
I noticed that the guest log is taking each page visited by a single user and making them a guest for each page. Is it possible to show all pages visited by a guest under one guest rather than each page causing another guest to be created?

Example:
Guest #1 Viewing category list 204.123.28.30 Jun 23, 2002, 2:49 PM
Guest #2 Who's Online 66.77.73.64 Jun 23, 2002, 2:49 PM
Guest #3 Who's Online 66.77.73.64 Jun 23, 2002, 2:48 PM
Guest #4 Viewing forum 204.123.28.30 Jun 23, 2002, 2:48 PM
Guest #5 Viewing category list 204.123.28.30 Jun 23, 2002, 2:48 PM
Guest #6 Login page 204.123.28.30 Jun 23, 2002, 2:48 PM
Guest #7 Who's Online 204.123.28.30 Jun 23, 2002, 2:47 PM
Guest #8 Search 204.123.28.30 Jun 23, 2002, 2:47 PM
Guest #9 Viewing category list 204.123.28.30 Jun 23, 2002, 2:47 PM
Guest #10 Viewing forum 66.77.73.64 Jun 23, 2002, 2:47 PM

Note the actual count here is 2 but it is counting as 10.

Just wondering!

Hi Brian,

Try logging out and then navigating a few pages on the forum, then take a look at the Who's Online page. You should just see one entry - also, you should see something like "guest=12345" in the URL. Gossamer Forum assigns each guest a guest ID, then they use that to move around. This is how it keeps track of guests. Going by IP alone isn't always reliable - for example, our office goes through a single firewall and so everyone here shows up with the same IP. It could be that someone just made numerous multiple entries in the forum. Give it a try yourself (browsing as a guest), while logged out, and see if multiple entries show up for you in Who's Online.

Hi Jason,

I did exactly that and I ended up with 3 guest logs for one person in the whos online section after viewing roughly five sections of the forum.
