Is there any way to add a copy of the basic editor at the very bottom of each thread? I've seen it on other boards, and it makes for easier post replies...

I don't see why not. I'm still getting used to all the template names for GForum ... but I'd imagine you would just copy+paste the <form> .... </form> HTML from the message writing template, and put it near the bottom of the thread_view.html (or whatever) template. In theory, that is
